LockerSync is an application that uploads your music to the web service MP3tunes, allowing you to listen to your songs when you're away from your computer.
If you use many computers and mobile devices, LockerSync can save you from having to upload music to all of them. With a free account, you get 2GB of online storage, which gives you iTunes-like access from any browser, iOS or Android devices.
The process of syncing is fairly simple. LockerSync scans your computer for music, and then allows you to choose what you want to sync. The interface is simple, but it's not that attractive. After your first sync, you can set up LockerSync to automatically sync with specific folders when new files are added to them.
As well as auto-syncing, it's possible to schedule regular syncing, meaning you can ask LockerSync to upload your music at times where you're not using your internet connection heavily.
LockerSync offers no playback facility - if you want to play your tracks you use the MP3tunes website. The streaming service requires you to sign in to access your library, and then it's very simple if you've ever used iTunes.
While it's not perfect, or particularly attractive, LockerSync offers a practical way for you to listen to your music collection away from your main computer.
